The Lord Mayor of Sheffield was presented with a tree-mendous gift at a store reopening.
Coun Peter Rippon accepted an impressive Christmas tree cake, complete with sparkling lights, from staff at Oak Furniture Land.
The retailer commissioned the festive confectionery creation as part of its relaunch celebrations and to help support the Mayor’s charities.
The newly refurbished store, at Drake House Retail Park, Drakehouse, Sheffield, has doubled in size to 18,000 sq feet and will showcase a range of sofas, available in numerous colour and size variations.
Coun Rippon said the cake would take centre stage at a Clothes Swap charity event, at Sheffield Town Hall.
He said: “This refurbished superstore is a welcome investment to the area, and is a nice addition to the choice of shops for local residents.
“I am delighted to accept the cake donation from the store manager.”
