Wig and Pen 'festive lunch

Wig and Pen 'festive lunch

I went for the first time since my student days last week. I’m not normally a pub person unless it’s at the end of a Derbyshire walk, but I went to meet Nigel and Vanessa Williams who run the pub. They are the most warm and friendly hosts. We sat outside in the sunshine on their little courtyard for lunch and had the most delicious steak and onion sandwich and chips I have ever had. The steak melted in your mouth and everything was perfect.

I recommend the Wig and Pen gastro pub for its great food, served bang on time when we pre-ordered one lunchtime. We had Big Wig burgers, but one was specially cooked to avoid milk products. The chips were brilliant - hand-cut. We sat in a tasteful lounge overlooking the historic Paradise Square so all in all a top lunchtime treat .The service was excellent and the puddings were amazing.

Barretts... I live in Aston but it’s well worth the journey. Great food, an excellent chef and a fabulous location. It has a really friendly atmosphere and you can bring your own wine so no rip-offs. Did I mention the great food?
