Sheffield man heads hi-tech global group

South Yorkshire businessman Alan Stubbs has been named group managing director of Singapore-based systems integrator and technology group CSE Global.

Mr Stubbs will continue to be based at the Eckington offices of CSE Global (UK) – formerly known as Servelec – where he has been managing director since 2001.

As managing director of CSE Global, he will be responsible for a business employing more than 1,400 people in 38 offices, based in 26 countries around the world, supplying products to the oil and gas, telecommunications, healthcare and environmental sectors.

Alan Stubbs joined Servelec as a software design engineer in 1984.

He is a graduate of Bradford University, a Chartered Engineer, member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and a Freeman of the City of London.

Last year he was named CSE Global's chief operating officer.

CSE Global UK's technology and skills are used in sectors ranging from the water industry to alcopop manufacturers, oil extraction to meteorology and flood prevention to radio broadcasts.

The firm's services span everything from initial consultancy to design, integration, installation and maintenance support.

The company has also developed computer-based patient administration, bed monitoring, Health Act administration and record keeping systems for the health sector, which are widely used by community, mental and child healthcare trusts.

Its software has also been used for the NHS IT initiative as an alternative to software developed by other companies whcih failed to perform or be ready on time and the company has developed software specifically for the acute healthcare market.
