n Rolls Royce chose South Yorkshire for its new factories because of availability of people with the skills it needs.

n The area also has links with suppliers, ease of access to other parts of the UK and existing links with Sheffield University through the Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility.

n Jobs will be available for apprentices and trainees at the new factories.

n Sky is locating at Ventana House, at the Digital Campus, off Sheaf Street, where 500 jobs will be created.

n Voice is creating new jobs by expanding its call centres at Broomhill and Woodseats.
