WESTFIELD Health, the Sheffield-based not-for-profit health insurer, has been named Best Cashplan Provider at the Corporate Adviser Awards in London.

The company beat five others to win the category which is judged on the basis of research among insurance intermediaries and health cash plan advisers.

Steve Sharrock, head of intermediary sales at Westfield, said winning an award based on the views of intermediaries and advisers that dealt with the cash plan market every day was especially significant.

Mr Sharrock said: “Over the last 12 months we have worked exceptionally hard to lead the market into new territory, with our Hospital Treatment Insurance creating a new area between cash plans and the private medical insurance sector, and bridging gaps in NHS service provision at a time when the health service is facing enormous financial pressure.

“This latest accolade is testimony to our hard work and reinforces our belief that we are leading the market in the right direction.”

Westfield’s latest success comes a month after the firm announced that it had increased assets, reserves and the donations it makes to health charities after achieving record policy sales and policy holder numbers.
