Students from Sheffield Hallam University are laying the foundations for careers in the construction industry thanks to a new commercial partnership.
Hallam has linked up with Sheffield Housing Company to create work placement opportunities.
Currently on placements are third years Nick Gonella and Thomas Lowe, who are studying to become quantity surveyors and needed work experience.
The 21-year-olds applied for and landed roles with Keepmoat, which is building 2,300 homes in the city.
Tom Fenton, project director with Sheffield Housing Company, said: “We are delighted to have been able to give Nick and Thomas the opportunity to gain quality experience in quantity surveying while supporting their studies.”
