A Sheffield-based firm which provides utility infrastructure solutions has secured a 26 month extension to its contract with British Gas.

The framework contract for Fulcrum means it will provide new gas infrastructure connections to British Gas’ business customers in England, Scotland and Wales, until January 31 2018.

This latest contract follows a recent deal to deliver new gas connections to four major Scottish distilleries in a contract worth £3.95 million.

Martin Donnachie, chief executive officer, said: “We are delighted to announce this new contract extension with British Gas.

“It validates the investments we have made in our operations to support our customers and demonstrates the excellent relationships that have been cultivated between both businesses.

“Our project engineers, designers and site operatives work incredibly closely with British Gas, which ensures leading levels of project delivery and customer service.”

Stuart Margerrison, head of business installations for British Gas, said: “Our decision reflects the confidence we have in them to continue to deliver leading levels of service to our business customers.”

Back in June, Fulcrum reported its first operating profit in its history for the financial year ending March 2015.

At the end of September the company announced its half year results for 2015-16, due to be published in December, remain on track to meet full year expectations. Fulcrum also recently signed a new 10-year extension for its head office in Tinsley.
