A banking apprentice from Sheffield has graduated from his course at a ceremony held at Barclays head office in Canary Wharf.

Connor Fowles, from Foxhill, who works in the company’s Rotherham branch, is now guaranteed a permanent job with Barclays.

He had spent a year with the bank gaining the experience he needs to help with his ongoing career.

Connor, who went to King Edward VII School in Broomhill, joined Barclays in July 2012 and attained a Financial Service NVQ Level 2 during his apprenticeship.

Sharon Oates, manager at Rotherham branch, said: “Connor has worked extremely hard and we have been very impressed by his commitment and diligence. He is extremely popular with colleagues and customers.”
