World leading mechanical seals manufacturer AES Engineering is predicting another record year after notching up sales of £39.5 million in the last quarter and achieving new successes in South Africa and the US.
Rotherham-based AES, whose subsidiaries include AESSEAL and AESPUMP, recently completed its 30th consecutive year of sales and profit growth and says it is on track to increase turnover to £151.7 million in the current year.
Its ambitions were boosted when leading US industrial pump and compressor specialist Sundyne named AESPUMP its sole authorised representative, distributor and service provider for South Africa.
AESPUMP will be responsible for sales, maintenance, repair and technical support for the entire portfolio of Sundyne pumps and compressors throughout South Africa, in addition to supplying spares.
Sundyne chose AESPUMP after carrying out what the US company described as a comprehensive audit of its capabilities, including its business ethics.
In addition to auditing the South African subsidiary’s facilities, compliance with international standards and training record, Sundyne also had TRACE, the internationally recognised anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance organisation, check the company.
AES founder and managing director, Chris Rea, said securing TRACE certification would give the company’s partners and customers the confidence that its activities fully comply with national and international ethical standards.
AES Engineering’s South African success came as the company set the seal on further US growth by opening a £3.3 million extension to its North American headquarters in Rockford, Tennessee.
