Overweight parents are being urged to have a heart and set a better example to their kids.
One in three UK two to 15 year-olds are over-weight or obese and could be damaging their hearts, says Heart Research UK during Childhood Obesity Week.
“Try to lead by example and take a ‘whole family’ approach to preventing heart disease.”
Family healthy heart tips:
Make porridge with semi-skimmed milk and sweeten with raisins or chopped banana for breakfast.
Ditch sugary juices and soft drinks for water, eat oily fish once a week, swap red meats for white fish and be active for an hour every day.
