Companies are being urged to bid for funding of up to £5,000 to help them make use of university research into advanced materials in commercial products.

The Strategic Projects to Access Research and Knowledge – or SPARK – initiative for advanced materials is being run by Sheffield and Glasgow Universities with funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s Knowledge Transfer Account.

Individual awards of up to £5,000 are available for UK based companies to fund problem solving, proof-of-concept technology demonstration and other development activities involving materials.
