A family-run Sheffield engineering firm, whose triumphs include the moving roof that covers Wimbledon’s Centre Court and hidden cleaning systems for London’s “Gherkin” is doing some development of its own.
SCX Group has outgrown its existing headquarters in Wincobank less than two years after having to expand into a new building.
As a result it is poised to increase the size of its offices by 60 per cent by ‘filling in the gap’ in its L-shaped headquarters.
Managing director Simon Eastwood said: “We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved over recent years. Thanks to continuing success, we have recruited an additional 19 people in the last year alone.
“As well as accommodating all the new people and providing a much more modern working environment, I’m excited to say that the new buildings will present a highly professional appearance and warm welcome for our valued clients when they arrive.”
The majority of SCX’s office staff have been moved into temporary buildings, which have been erected in the car-park of its additional premises across the road whilst the work takes place.
The rest will be moved to refurbished offices half a mile away at the group’s assembly and test facility, close to the Meadowhall Interchange. Work should be completed in the spring
