A South Yorkshire sales and negotiation specialist has been celebrating the success of a project to help primary school pupils to improve their learning and communications skills.
Wentworth-based Huthwaite International has been teaching the youngsters the same skills that it has been helping commercial customers to acquire for more than 40 years
Its consultants teamed up with science teacher Jenni Monach and Dr Lynne Bianchi of Sheffield Hallam University to help the children learn ‘Verbal Behaviour Analysis.’
The training culminated in the launch at Grenoside Primary School of a nine-minute animated video which the pupils wrote and spoke the words of the characters themselves.
The video aims to demonstrate how Verbal Behaviour Analysis can be used to assist learning, communication, collaboration and clarity of thought.
Grenoside pupil Thomas Taylor, who played the lead role in the video, said: “It was great fun using the verbal behaviours, especially the Defend/Attack behaviours – something I try not to use much of in real life!”
