New markets could be opening up for innovative construction components business Ancon Building Products.

The award-winning Sheffield group has just secured the CE mark for its product portfolio, which means they all comply with harmonised European product standards.

Managing director, Stuart Maxwell, said: “CE marking is now a legal requirement in many European countries under the EU Construction Products Regulation.

”Our compliance with all aspects of this new legislation will make it easier for us to market and sell Sheffield-manufactured goods to the construction industries in every member state of the European Economic Area.

“With sales subsidiaries located in Germany and Austria, and an established network of distributors throughout Europe, Ancon is better placed than many UK manufacturers to understand EU regulations, product standards and design codes.”

The CE Mark is also valued in non-EU countries that don’t have their own quality assurance and compliance regimes.
