A WEBSITE offering winter driving advice has been praised by a road safety group in Derbyshire.

The site, created by the Institute of Advanced Motorists, explains how to cope with the challenges associated with winter driving, and is being recommended by the Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership.

Topics covered include journey planning, getting vehicles ready for winter, medicines that can affect driving and staying in control when in fog, rain, ice or snow.

Partnership chairman Mike Ashworth said: “Road users are at greater risk when there’s wintry weather. Commuters are more likely to be travelling in the dark and frosty conditions make journeys more difficult.

“It pays to be prepared and the website explains simple steps you can take to help you stay safe.”
