RAILWAY bosses are reporting a surge of bookings on the Doncaster to London line for the weekend of the Royal wedding.

Operator East Coast Trains says reservations on the services on Thursday, April 28, the day before Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton, are up 56 per cent on the same Thursday last year.

The firm says trips out of London are also up on the same date, by 34 per cent on the 2010 figure.
