A SHEFFIELD roofing firm has been awarded a new industry standard.
Martin-Brooks was awarded competent roofer status which means it can self-certify work formerly requiring building regulation approval.
It means homeowners who have had work done on their roofs by the firm can be given a certificate without having to undergo a £95 council inspection.
Director Nick Brooks said: “We are pleased to be pioneering this. Not all homeowners are aware building regulation approval is compulsory on large jobs.”
