Rewards packages for finance and accountancy professionals continue to be strong across Yorkshire, driven by a lack of candidates with the right skills an experience.
According to Sheffield-based recruiters the Sharp Consultancy, many companies see a lack of suitably skilled individuals as a serious barrier to growth and development.
Meanwhile, companies are having to pay finance specialists bonuses of around 50 per cent, and in some cases 100 per cent of the salary, to retain the expertise they need.
Sharp Consultancy regional director Lee Sweeney says that although bonus pots have shrunk, top performers are seeing little change in what they receive as the cash is being distributed among fewer employees.
Meanwhile, high flyers are being paid more than the normal salary levels for their positions in order to “make it uneconomical to look elsewhere” them as opportunities for internal progression decline, says Mr Sweeney.
