Entrepreneurs and new businesses are getting the chance to shine at this year’s Star Business Awards.
Awards, which are designed to recognise and celebrate the successes of the whole of the business community within the Sheffield City Region, include an Entrepreneur Award, presented to the individual who has an eye for a gap in the market and the drive and know-how to exploit it, and who has demonstrated the ability to turn a bright business idea into a revenue-generating reality.
A Business Start Up Award will be also presented to a business established within the last two years that is operating independently and can demonstrate that it has carried out sound and thorough research of its market, has a clear business strategy, leading to further development and growth, understands the demands placed on a growing business and is willing to seek and take advice.
Organisations can nominate themselves, clients, suppliers and other businesses by visiting the Awards website - www.thestar.co.uk/businessawards - and downloading an entry form.
n Specialist construction group Amey has won a leading human resources award for the way it manages and motivates its employees.
The company, which employs 1,000 people in Yorkshire, some of whom are based at its offices in Attercliffe, was named Team of the Year at the Employee Benefits Awards.
