MORE jobs could be created on a South Yorkshire business park which has been a runaway success since it opened last year.
An unnamed company is in talks to move in to what will be the biggest unit yet at Onyx Retail Park, near Wath-on-Dearne.
The interest has prompted developers Onward Holdings to bring forward the construction of seven more units.
So far Greggs, Subway and Domino’s have opened, with Motorworld and a Thai Garden Cafe set to open within weeks. Up to 100 jobs have been created so far.
Surveyor for Onward, Andrew Miller, said the plan was to have the new units built by the end of the year.
He added: “We knew it would be popular with Subway and Domino’s taking pre-lets. They say they are all doing in excess of what they expected.”
He put the site’s success down to its location.
Onyx is on Manvers Way. To the east, some 600 of 1,100 houses on the former Manvers pit site have been constructed. Further down the road are several huge call centres.
To the west is the RSPB Old Moor bird reserve which attracts thousands of visitors eaach year.
