Developers of The Moor have been seeing strong interest from restaurant operators in the new leisure development, due to be developed alongside Debenhams.

Despite a hiccup caused by delays disconnecting a gas main, work on a new leisure and retail complex, with a cinema, seven restaurants and coffee shops is due to be completed on time and be trading by Christmas 2015.

“There is very strong interest from a number of food operators and we are going to be careful to ensure we get a mix of different types of food,” said a spokesman.

“We are very confident we can get the right mix to appeal to all tastes and have maximum drawing power.”

Developers believe that the latest development, which will include a 50,000 sq ft Primark store, which could be expanded to 80,000 sq ft, will bring a further million customers to The Moor each year.
