DLA Piper has been appointed to the legal panel advising Research Councils UK.

Panel members provide legal advice to seven UK Research Councils that invest around £3 billion of taxpayers’ money in academic research each year, as well as their umbrella body.

Richard Taylor, from DLA Piper’s Sheffield office is leading the firm’s work with Research Councils UK.

Mr Taylor said: “This is a significant appointment for the DLA Piper team - RCUK generates significant socio-economic benefits for the UK and we are very proud to be supporting its future work.”

A capacity audience of around 600 people will attend the Global Manufacturing Festival’s opening event on Wednesday, when Boeing UK president Sir Roger Bone delivers the Sheffield Management Lecture.
