Westfield Health has increased assets, reserves and the donations it makes after achieving record policy sales and policy holder numbers.

The award-winning Sheffield-based health insurance provider says the rise in assets to £86.6 million and reserves to £79.5 million has allowed it to add greater value to its products and services, adding benefits to health plans at no additional cost.

Westfield also injected £850,000 into its charitable trust and made its biggest ever single donation of £350,000 to the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity’s ‘Do Your Bit’ appeal, in aid of a new state-of-the-art research and treatment facility.

Chief executive Jill Davies said: “As a not-for-profit company we have no shareholders and so our surplus can be used for the benefit of our customers rather than paying dividends.”
