A Peak District wildlife centre has received a top award for the warmth of its welcome to thousands of visitors every year.

The Chestnut Centre in Chapel-en-le-Frith is home to otters, owls, deer, pine martens, polecats, foxes and Scottish wildcats.

It has been given a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award after consistently achieving outstanding reviews on the popular website.

Only the top performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on Trip Advisor receive the accolade.

Centre owner Carol Heap said she was thrilled to receive the award and her staff deserved a big thank you.
