Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre has revceived £800 from staff at The Source Academy.
The service, which gives free and confidential support to women and girls who have experienced rape or sexual abuse, was nominated by Zara-Louise Gold-Manyou.
Zara is on the charity committee at The Source and nominated SRASAC, after she heard about the support they had provided to someone she knew.
Staff staged a non-uniform day, did a Ben Nevis climb, a sponsored Lent challenge and a raffle which raised £855.55.
Chris Scarlett, chair of trustees at the charity, said “It’s great to see a company who are confronting the issue of rape and sexual abuse as it’s still a subject which a lot of people don’t like to talk about. This money could pay for 26 free counselling sessions for our clients, or for three of our helpline volunteers to go on training weekends.”
