Radical rethink on waste urged

Have your say

Manufacturing chiefs are calling on the Government to take a more radical approach to waste management.

The manufacturers organisation, the EEF, wants Government to work with industry to develop a resource strategy that will enable materials to be re-used and to speed up their movement across the economy.

It says waste management laws are unnecessarily complex, confusing and based on out of date assumptions that waste will be sent to landfill

An EEF survey of senior manufacturing leaders showed 80 per cent now say a shortage of raw materials is a risk to their business.
