Shop staff from across Sheffield are saddling up for a retail giant’s biggest fundraising event.

Chris Brookes, Jamie Pass, George Martin, Paul Smethurst and Kathryn Vernon will join more than 1,400 Marks & Spencer employees at a BIKE 24 endurance event at Rockingham Motor Racing Circuit in Corby.

One cyclist from each team of four will be on the track at all times for 24 hours from 5pm this Friday, June 21.

Staff at Sheffield stores have already begun fundraising towards the firm’s £1.5 million target by cycling in store on static bikes.

Paul Campbell, of M&S in Sheffield, said: “We’re delighted our BIKE 24 charity cycle challenge will be bigger and better than ever.

“We’re looking forward to supporting our team of cyclists.”
