Professionals give advice on careers to sixth-formers

Have your say

Sixth-form students from Barnsley College met a solicitor, a games designer and a chemical engineer as part of a programme designed to help them decide what career path to choose.

The students attended a series of talks from 21 people from different industries, including journalist Nicky Hyde from We Are Barnsley, entrepreneur Julian Hall, teacher Louise Hood and clinical psychologist Nigel Beail, who each spoke about how they got into their job, what it’s like day to day, and the qualifications and skills needed.
