Sheffield’s posties have been praised for hitting their delivery targets so this year.
Royal Mail has beaten its delivery targets for Sheffield - managing to get more than 94 per cent of first class mail delivered the day after posting.
Its latest figures, covering April to September, show 94.4 per cent of first class mail was delivered on time in the S postcode area - against the national 93 per cent delivery target.
It also exceeded its Second Class mail target in the area, with local postmen and women delivering 98.9 per cent within three working days, against a target of 98.5 per cent.
The quality of service measurements are carried out by independent research company TNS Global.
The research found that across the country, 110 out of 118 postcode area met or passed the delivery target for first class mail.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “These results build on the company’s service performance in the first quarter of 2014/15, which saw it beat its First Class and Second Class Quality of Service targets.”
