VINTAGE fashion, arts, crafts, jewellery and antiques will be on sale when Devonshire Green hosts its latest market next weekend.
The Sheffield city centre park is hosting a Summer Season Closing Party market on Saturday, August 27. Previous markets on the green have attracted up to 12,000 people.
Organisers say there will be more than 100 stalls stocking vintage, reworked fashion, handmade arts and crafts, jewellery and antiques.
West Street venue, The Wick at Both Ends, is setting up a cocktail bar on the green, and there will be live music, DJs, and a gourmet food court.
Devonshire Green has previously hosted markets during the Tramlines Festival and on the Royal Wedding weekend - which attracted 12,000 visitors.
Organiser Sarah Nulty said: “We handpick unique sellers for each market, and work hard to create the right atmosphere.
“We like to do things a little differently. The August Bank Holiday weekend market has an Ibizan feel - we’ve introduced live music and entertainment throughout the day.
“This market also has a gourmet food court which is a new addition. We want to make each market a destination, a place to spend the whole day, shopping, eating and relaxing with friends.
“We’re really excited about our next event and we’re hoping to get everyone into the partying spirit.
“Our main focus is on getting the vibe right. We’ve had so many compliments from previous events, from shoppers and stall holders alike, saying that they’ve never experienced anything like it in the North - we are delighted with that feedback.”
Next Saturday’s event will run from 11am to 6pm, with the bar and music continuing to 7pm.
Two further markets will be held, with a rock theme on Saturday, October 1, and a Twisted Christmas theme on Saturday, December 10.
The markets are helping Devonshire Green, which was revamped at a cost of £1.2 million, to attract up to five million visitors each year.
