COUNCILLORs in Sheffield are being asked to consider moving the site for Stocksbridge market.
The market has been held on a car park next to the Lidl supermarket. However, when this was shut while the store was extended, it was moved outside the town library.
Stocksbridge Town Council has now asked residents about the sites - and said an ‘overwhelming’ majority preferred the library because they considered it more suitable.
Sheffield Council has now been asked if it will provide funding for a new market site outside the library.
