Foundation engineering business Green Piling is targeting expansion in areas requiring specialist equipment and expertise with the backing of bankers HSBC and the Regional Growth Fund.
The company, based at Renishaw, near Sheffield, is investing in two new piling rigs that will enable it to target contracts requiring piling in areas that are environmentally sensitive or where access is restricted – two important growth areas for the firm.
The investment will increase its share of the market for continuous flight auger piling, which is virtually vibration free.
Green Piling was founded by managing director David Green in 2000, employs 28 people and has a turnover of £5 million.
It specialises in designing, supplying and installing piling systems and foundation packages for commercial, industrial, civil engineering and residential projects across the UK.
HSBC South Yorkshire commercial director Martin Nattrass said: “HSBC has been providing banking support to Green Piling since 2010 and it’s exciting to be working with the business on the next phase of their growth.
“The company is a great example of a dynamic and focused business pursuing growth opportunities despite the challenges that many companies in the construction sector are currently facing.”
