Three amateur photographers from Sheffield have been shortlisted for a prestigious national award in the fifth annual EEF/Lombard ‘Make it Britain’ photography competition.

The are Mark Tomlinson, Alan Burke from Stannington and Chris Charlesworth, who took this image of late afternoon light streaming through large cogging wheels at Firth Rixson Forgings .

Their photographs will now go on display at an awards ceremony in the House of Commons on Thursday December 11 where the winning photographer will be announced.

The competition aims to raise the profile of British manufacturing by showcasing the industry’s creativity and heritage.
