HOT weather caused a headache for South Yorkshire bus passengers when vehicles started overheating.
South Yorkshire’s biggest operator First had to take around 20 of its vehicles off the road to deal with the problem.
A service update from South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive said the problem was ‘affecting nearly every route’ on Tuesday.
A First spokesman said: “A small number of buses were taken out of service for a short time yesterday.
“This was due to the sudden change in the weather which caused vehicle overheating.
“The buses were taken out of service at intervals to ensure minimum disruption to customers and were put back into service as soon as issues were resolved.”
