Dutch group Aalberts Industries says its Flow Control division, which includes Doncaster-based plumbing products group Pegler Yorkshire, increased profits by 12 per cent during the past year.

The rise came despite increasing raw materials prices and challenging markets. About half the increase was organic, primarily through increased sales of group products.

Aalberts says the UK’s residential construction market showed hardly any growth, although the commercial market remained fairly stable.

The group increased sales by 15 per cent to €1,937 million (£1,641 million) and net profit by 24 per cent to €145.8 million (£123.5 million).
