Micro-brewers had a visit from a South Yorkshire MP keen to ‘find out how small businesses are coping in the current economic climate’.
Dan Jarvis, Labour MP for Barnsley Central, called at The Two Roses brewery, at Darton.
He said: “I understand how difficult it is for local businesses in these challenging economic times.
“So it’s heartening to see the entrepreneurial spirit of local people is helping create new opportunities.
“The owner, James Taylor, has taken his passion and created a solid business.
“It is good to see him working with other businesses and drawing on local talent.
“Not only was his branding created by local designer, Ian Meade, but his beers are being stocked permanently by the locally owned Talbot pub in Mapplewell.”
Two Roses Brewery started brewing in March 2011 and produces specialist beers in casks and bottles.
