Doncaster has had one for years - now Sheffield is to get its very own business exhibition.
More than 100 companies and 1,000 business people are set to attend the first Sheffex trade show at Ponds Forge on June 2.
As well as trade stands, the organisers are planning a ‘Networking Arena’ and workshops - in a set up similar to the sell-out Doncaster Showcase held at the Racecourse last month. That event is now in its sixth year.
Tony Carroll, Sheffex organiser, said: “When we first decided to go for it we had no idea if the idea would fly.
“After dozens of conversations with people across the region, it was obvious there was a space for something that was business focused rather than sector focused. Sheffex aims to get to the heart of what we’re all interested in – doing more business, striking deals and building profits - right here in Sheffield. There’s no agenda to fulfil, no KPI’s to meet, and no inward investment reports to write. It’s just about us all doing more together.”
Over 400 people had already registered, he added.
