Britain's volleyball and table tennis teams will be among those putting on a demonstration for Sheffield businesses today as part of a drive to encourage more to bid for 2012 Olympics contracts.
Sheffield City Council and Yorkshire Gold Business Club have teamed up to stage the sport and business event at the English Institute of Sport.
Yorkshire Gold Business Club project manager Lauren Pigg said: "This interactive event is a great chance for businesses in the region to hear about the major opportunities out there and find out what their home city Sheffield is doing in the lead up to the London 2012 Games.
"We hope the event will help inspire Yorkshire businesses to apply for some of the lucrative contracts and encourage them to get in touch with the Yorkshire Gold Business Club for support."
Attendees will learn about the national and local opportunities up for grabs and the role Sheffield is playing in the lead up to the London 2012 Games. Sheffield 2012 delivery manager Ben Brailsford said: "Sheffield is really benefiting from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
