Sheffield food is simply delicious - and that’s official.
Silversmiths restaurant on Arundel Street won the prize for best use of local produce on its menu - a factor owner Justin Rowntree prides himself on. Yorkshire Crisps, hand-cooked from potatoes grown by local farmers, won best ready-to-eat food for their new flavour, sweet-cured ham and pickle and fruit and potatoes distributor GW Price of Eckington were named best wholesaler.
More awards are in the offing later this month for city food businesses.
Public voting has just closed for the Eat Sheffield Awards. Thousands of diners have voted in support of their favourite local cafes, restaurants and food producers and the winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner on October 28.
