Steel firm, Sverdrup Steel, is launching its first venture outside Norway at Sheffield construction group JF Finnegan Beighton Link Business Park.

The global supplier of high performance steel has taken a 10 year lease on the 20,954 sq ft unit to set up a distribution facility.

Chief executive Torstein Erevik said: “We were looking to establish our first venture outside Norway and having decided upon the UK, began looking into areas which were well connected to the rest of the country and then properties which matched our requirements.

“Beighton Link is a prestige business park and the quality of the unit was ideal. We are excited about expanding our operations into South Yorkshire.”

The deal with Sverdrup Steel means the first phase of the business park is now fully let.

Other tenants include barbecue grill suppliers Cadac, Techtrain Associates, Ideal Envelopes, Viaturn and SP Smith Painting Contractors.

Beighton Link is also home to Orchid Orthopedic Solutions – formerly Sandvik Medical Solutions.

Nick Gillott, director of JF Finnegan, said; “Beighton Link has always been an exciting development to be involved with.

“To have international companies like Cadac and Orchid on board, who are leaders in their field and then to be welcoming another global operator, Sverdrup Steel is a major coup for the scheme and completes our tenant mix. Plans for the remaining three acres at Beighton Link include more of the same, but with retail and leisure opportunities.”

JF Finnegan was represented by the Sheffield offices of CBRE and Crossland Otter Hunt and Sverdrup Steel represented itself.
