Family-owned fabrics and wallpaper designer and supplier Nouveau Fabrics is planning for growth after appointing its first non-executive director.
Nouveau was set up in 1972 by the Thompson family, which had started a furnishings fabrics business at Down Quilt House in Doncaster, 33 years earlier.
Nowadays, Nouveau is run by brother and sister, Nigel Thompson and Katherine Beaumont, who have just appointed accountant Denis Kaye as a non-executive to assist with the company’s growth strategy.
Nouveau’s products are distributed through decorative interiors retailers and interior designers worldwide and are now also sold by Nouveau’s own retail outlet at the recently opened Queens Road Design Centre, in Doncaster.
Nigel Thompson says the market for Nouveau’s fabrics has changed enormously during the last 20 years and the company is looking forward to having additional external experience on its board.
Denis Kaye was introduced to Nouveau Fabrics by Amplifi Governance UK.
