Century Business Centre, at Manvers, in Rotherham is 95 per cent occupied, taking the 66-unit Rotherham Investment & Development Office-run facility back to pre-recession levels.
Nine new tenants have established themselves at the Business Centre in the past couple of months, offering everything from property management to air conditioning, hose supplies, training services and photography.
Former fire fighters Nick Frewin and Chris Clegg are among those who have started their own businesses at the centre.
The duo, who spent 26 and 30 years respectively with South Yorkshire Fire Service, have turned their passion for photography into a full time career, after setting up Red Ember Digital, with support from RiDO.
Nick Frewin said: “The support we have received from RiDO has been fantastic and has really helped us to turn our dream of starting a photography business into a reality.
“We have worked hard to transform our workshop at Century Business Centre into a photography studio and we are already really busy with lots of bookings. As a start up business, having access to mentoring and support from RiDO has been invaluable and the easy-in, easy-out contract has allowed us to get our own premises, without having to enter into a long term commitment.”
Heidi and Edward Galvin have moved their property management company, E Galvin Property Services, from their home to an office in the centre.
“Moving into the offices at Century Business Centre has already helped us to win new business, thanks to our professional image and the administration and reception support provided by RiDO,” said Heidi.
“The location is excellent as we have easy access to the motorway and the offices are reasonably priced, which has allowed us to benefit from our own premises at a relatively early stage in the business.”
Other new businesses at Century Business Centre include MGM Training Academy, Antler Air Systems, Otto Simon, Instant Equity Properties and Directhoses.
