New pub for Waverley

Have your say

It has dozens of firms and will soon have hundreds of houses but soon the Waverley area will have a key essential – a pub.

Derbyshire firm Wildgoose Construction has secured a contract to build a pub and restaurant, creating 40 jobs, on Mitchell Way.

The Winter Green is being built for Marston’s Inns and Taverns and is set to be complete by August.

Waverley is on the site of the former Orgreave coking ovens. It is now home to the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and the Advanced Manufacturing Park. Dozens of new homes are being built for workers.
