LEADING food wholesaler Tai Sun Oriental Trading is creating 20 new jobs, expanding its operations in Sheffield and launching a purchasing centre in the Chinese capital Beijing, with the help of Barclays Corporate.

Tai Sun supplies many take-aways and restaurants in South Yorkshire and now has wholesale outlets in Doncaster and Sheffield as well as a retail outlet in Sheffield.

Managing director Jay Wang said: “The new premises will offer significantly enhanced purpose built facilities for our new wholesale outlet.

“I have been delighted that we have been able to expand our business in the South Yorkshire area - particularly in the current climate.”

Tai Sun says the new warehouse in Sheffield will create around 20 jobs, while its new Far East purchasing centre in Beijing will allow it to source the best and most authentic oriental products from China.

Barclays Corporate’s Pete Wilmer said: “It’s been a real pleasure working with Jay and his team and we welcome Tai Sun Trading Company to Barclays.

“Tai Sun Trading is a great example of a business that is thriving and growing in difficult economic conditions and we are delighted to support its move to new premises.”
