Pepkor UK, the investment vehicle established by retail entrepreneur Andy Bond, is due to open its third GHM! store today in Sheffield.

GHM! - which stands for Guess How Much! - will begin trading at the Kilner Way retail park at Wadsley Bridge in Sheffield.

GHM! is the second strategic investment made by Pepkor UK, a venture established in 2014 by retail entrepreneur Mr Bond and former Bain & Company consultant Mark Elliott. Pepkor UK manages corporate activity in the UK in support of the wider Pepkor group - a Cape Town-based investment company with retail interests in Africa, Australia and Eastern Europe. Its first investment, fashion brand PEP&CO, opened 50 stores in just over 50 days in the summer of 2015.

A Pepkor UK spokesman said: “From jeans to beans to spring cleans, GHM! will bring together PEP&CO family fashion, food and general merchandise under one roof - at prices customers will share with friends and families.”

The store will be run by manager Andy O’Flaherty, and his deputy Martin Fieldsend. They will be supported by a team of around 24 workers.

The new format has a leadership team with a strong background in retail. Managing director Koray Gul was co-founder and managing directorof international apparel business GAAT and he also held a number of senior trading leadership roles at Leeds-based Asda.
