Manchester Airport is laying on dedicated flights to an international property show in France after increased demand from northern cities, including Sheffield, in particular.
The service, run by Jet2.com on behalf of Manchester Airport’s property business, MAG Developments, is the first to be run to MIPIM by any UK airport, outside London.
The airport is also offering free parking, an expanded baggage allowance, fast-track security clearance, use of the airport’s new £1.5 million Escape Lounge and transfer from Nice Airport to Cannes, where MIPIM opens on Tuesday March 8.
More than 20,000 delegates are likely to attend MIPIM 2011, which is seen by many UK cities as a key opportunity to stimulate economic growth and raise the profile of investment and development opportunities in their locality.
n Sheffield’s presence at MIPIM has been made possible this year by a consortium of leading property developers, agents, architects and other development and construction professionals from the city, who joined forces to overcome the effect of cuts in public sector funding.
