A FISH food company from Doncaster has won a contract to supply the world’s newest and largest oceanarium – based in Singapore.
New Era Aquaculture will supply a comprehensive range of food designed to provide the ideal diet for 100,000 marine creatures, drawn from more than 800 species, which will inhabit 60 million litres of water in the Resorts World Sentosa Marine Life Park – also known as RWS.
The order is the largest that the company has ever won.
New Era’s managing director, Peter Kersh, said: “We are extremely excited to have secured this landmark order.
“We are totally confident that our products will deliver major benefits for RWS because they are not only easy to manage and sustain fish health and water quality but, with no preparation required, they are also economical. The RWS order helps to augment our reputation in the growing public aquariums market - the world is our oyster!”
Craig Sowden, director and chief curator of the Park’s aquarium, said New Era’s experience in providing nutrition to aquariums around the world made it a natural choice when the Park was looking for a reputable organisation to feed its 100,000 marine creatures.
The deal with RWS has given a further boost to New Era’s sales, which have been growing by 50 per cent a year.
The company supplies more than 100 major aquariums across the globe, primarily in Europe and North America, and is working with existing and new aquariums in China, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Pacific and Latin America.
New Era was founded more than 20 years ago to create specialist marine environments. The business now produces hundreds of tonnes of specialist food for marine and tropical fish every year.
