Sheffield-based law firm DLA Piper is strengthening its litigation and regulatory team with the introduction of Rebecca Connell as an associate.
Rebecca will be doing mostly advisory work in the newly combined regulatory/safety, health and environment and corporate criminal investigations team headed up by partners Teresa Hitchcock and Stuart Ponting.
She previously trained and worked at Kinsley Napley LLP in London and qualified into the crime and regulatory team.
Along with Rebecca, Hannah Smith, currently a trainee at DLA Piper’s Sheffield office, will be joining the team.
She is due to qualify as a lawyer in September this year.
Richard Norman, head of the Sheffield litigation and regulatory department, gave a warm welcome to the new team members.
He said: “We welcome Rebecca and Hannah into the team.
“Our new recruits strengthen our offering to the market and reinforce us as the leading litigation and regulatory advisors in the region.”
The Sheffield litigation and regulatory team handles local, national and international cases for an extensive client base.
They are ranked number one for South Yorkshire in the Chambers UK 2015 list and in the Legal 500 2014.
DLA Piper’s city offices are based in Norfolk Street.
The company also has lawyers positioned in places around the world, including in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
