The site of a former students’ union building in Sheffield that has stood empty for a decade has been put up for sale.
The Nelson Mandela Building, that used to be the home of the Sheffield Hallam University students’ union, was demolished in 2007 after closing its doors in 2004.
It was announced today that the current owner, the Homes & Community Agency, is now looking to find a buyer for the vacant land close to Sheffield Railway Station.
Potential uses for the site include a new hotel, offices or an educational facility.
