A CHILDREN’S clothing chain with a store at Meadowhall has become the latest retailer to fall into administration - putting 400 jobs at risk.
Sixty members of staff have already been made redundant and five of Pumpkin Patch’s 36 UK stores have been closed, but administrator Deloitte said it intended to continue trading at other sites. The Meadowhall branch remains open.
Meanwhile, KPMG, administrator of Peacocks, has laid off 249 staff in the firm’s Cardiff head office, but said it would keep on the remaining employees and continue to run Peacocks’ 563 stores and 48 concessions, including stores in South Yorkshire, as it seeks a buyer.
Bonmarche, also owned by The Peacock Group, and which has three stores in Sheffield, has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
